On 28 April 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, joined the Ambassador of Australia to ASEAN and a representative from the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN in the “ASEAN Goes to School” programme at Semarang Public High School 3 in Semarang, Indonesia. She delivered a presentation on ASEAN and educational opportunities in Thailand to approximately 150 high school students from various schools across Semarang.

Ambassador Prinat highlighted ASEAN’s potential and significance as a region, noting that it is the world’s fourth-largest economy and the third-largest in terms of population. She underscored the tangible benefits ASEAN brings to its people and emphasised the important role of ASEAN youth as the future of ASEAN, who account for approximately one-third of the region’s total population, in advancing the ASEAN Community. The presentation also included information on academic programmes and scholarship opportunities in Thailand for students from ASEAN Member States.

The “ASEAN Goes to School” programme was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia to enhance awareness of ASEAN, foster a sense of belonging to the ASEAN Community among young people, and promote educational opportunities.  The programme was well received by the students who actively engaged with the speakers through constructive questions and exchanges of ideas.
