On 19 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Parinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Gerard Ho, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Singapore to ASEAN, to introduce herself following her assumption of duty. The meeting took place over a luncheon hosted by Ambassador Ho.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on developments within the ASEAN framework and the important role of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), particularly in promoting constructive engagement with external partners and in working together to ensure ASEAN’s continued relevance amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Ambassador Prinat also reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to support Singapore in its preparations for and assumption of the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027. Ambassador Ho noted that Singapore would advance key ASEAN priorities by building upon cooperation in recent years, particularly in the areas of the digital economy, connectivity, sustainable development, and the strengthening of ASEAN centrality.
