On 5 August 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, co-chaired, with Mexico, the Meeting between the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN and the National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance with Mexico, in Thailand's capacity as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN–Pacific Alliance Relations.

On this occasion, Ambassador Prinat encouraged ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance to further strengthen practical cooperation in areas where both sides have expertise and share common interests, including sustainable development, connectivity, tourism, culture, gender equality, and the digital economy.

The Meeting also agreed to develop a new ASEAN–Pacific Alliance Work Plan that is more focused, action-oriented, and implementable, with a view to its adoption by the ASEAN–Pacific Alliance Foreign Ministers in 2027.

The Pacific Alliance also proposed convening the ASEAN–Pacific Alliance Ministerial Meeting on the sidelines of the 81^st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September 2026.
