On 6 June 2023, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, and H.E. KIYA Masahiko, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, co-hosted the 17^th Meeting of the ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee at the ASEAN Secretariat. The Committee, comprising 10 Permanent Representatives to ASEAN and the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, took stock of cooperation under the Revised Implementation Plan of the Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, which has now been fully addressed. The Meeting also exchanged views on future ASEAN-Japan cooperation. This year, ASEAN and Japan plan to adopt a new joint vision statement and implementation plan, as part of the commemoration of 50 Years of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation under the theme “Golden Friendship, Golden Opportunity.”
