On 19 June 2023, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the handover ceremony for the ASEAN Artist Residency Programme (AARP) at the ASEAN Secretariat, with H.E. Pisanu Suvanajata, Vice Chairman of C asean, as a witness. At the ceremony, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN, received a painting from Mr. Srun Rida, the Cambodian artist-in-residence, which will later be displayed in the ASEAN Gallery.

AARP is an outreach programme that provides an opportunity for young ASEAN artists to reside and work in Indonesia for a period of one month. Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, through C asean, has been the programme’s main sponsor since 2019.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Sriphiromya attended the meeting between the ASEAN Secretariat and C asean to discuss further collaboration in fostering ASEAN Indentity among the new generations and promoting people-to-people exchange in the region.
