On 15 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, paid an introductory call on H.E. Mrs. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Ambassador Prinat congratulated Malaysia on its successful ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 and reiterated Thailand’s readiness to work closely with all ASEAN Member States and external partners to advance issues of common interest in the region, including Malaysia’s priorities in ASEAN.

In addition, both Ambassadors exchanged visions on meaningful ways to strengthen ASEAN’s external relations in which the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) can play a leading role.
