On 21 July 2025, Mr. Suwit Mangkhala, Deputy Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, represented the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN at the opening ceremony of the Regional Capacity Building Workshop of the eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA): Cohort 5, held at Chamchuri 10 Building, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok.
On this occasion, the Deputy Permanent Representative also participated as a speaker in the Fireside Chat session titled “ASEAN 101: From Diversity to Opportunity,” which was attended by over 100 youth volunteers from ASEAN Member States. He underlined the vital role of ASEAN youth as agents of change and active builders of the ASEAN Community—both now and in the future. He encouraged the participants to help shape ASEAN into a peaceful, stable, prosperous, and inclusive community, leaving no one behind. He concluded by sharing three key principles of effective leadership: rationality, practicality, and agility.
This participation reflects Thailand’s and the Permanent Mission’s continued commitment to supporting ASEAN youth empowerment, with the aim of fostering meaningful youth engagement in building an inclusive and sustainable ASEAN Community.
