On 10 September 2025, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, organised a seminar on “ASEAN Community Vision 2045: Opportunities and Challenges for Thai Businesses” to share key economic insights with Thai businesses in Indonesia. During the session, H.E. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, emphasised the opportunities presented by ASEAN’s new Vision, as well as the existing and prospective economic agreements, and how ASEAN can respond to challenges arising from U.S. tariff measures. She also encouraged Thai businesses to leverage ASEAN’s economic cooperation frameworks, both within the region and with external partners, while noting progress in the ongoing negotiations on the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA).

The seminar aimed to equip Thai businesses with timely knowledge and insights to navigate global economic dynamics effectively and to leverage ASEAN’s economic mechanisms to their benefits. This reflects the Mission’s proactive commitment to advancing Thailand’s economic interests in the ASEAN and international arenas.
