Thailand Promotes Cooperation with the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation

On 30 July 2026, H.E. Mr. I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, Executive Director of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.
Both sides exchanged views on the future direction of ASEAN-IPR, with particular emphasis on strengthening its research mandate to address emerging challenges affecting regional peace and security, including cybersecurity, climate change, energy security, and water management.
Established with the endorsement of ASEAN Leaders on 8 May 2011 and launched on 18 November 2012 on the sidelines of the 21st ASEAN Summit, ASEAN-IPR serves as ASEAN's dedicated institution for research and capacity-building on peace and reconciliation. The ASEAN-IPR Secretariat is based in Jakarta, Indonesia
