On 26 August 2024, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN attended the Launch of ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Fund (AKCF) Annual Report 2023 organized by the Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat. The event was attended by Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, Ambassador and Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, and relevant stakeholders.

As a Country Coordinator for ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations, Ambassador Ekarohit, on behalf of the ASEAN Member States, congratulated the ROK on the launch of the AKCF Annual Report 2023 which is the second of its kind since the establishment of the Fund in 1990. Over the past 34 years, the 456 projects totaling USD 74 million funded by AKCF have helped to bring the Peoples of ASEAN and ROK closer together, as well as provided strong impetus for ASEAN Community building efforts.

In 1989, ASEAN and the ROK established Dialogue Relations. Both sides are celebrating the 35^th Anniversary of Dialogue Relations this year with a plan to elevate their relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
