On 22 December 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, delivered congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of “Experience Japanese Food Culture: Try and Enjoy ‘Real’ Japanese Cuisine” organized by the Mission of Japan to ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat.

H.E. Kiya Masahiko, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN introduced the event which showcased Japan’s food culture through a live demonstration by a Japanese Soba-Making Master from Miyagi Prefecture as a kick-start activity to celebrate the 50^th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation in 2023 under the theme ‘Golden Friendship, Golden Opportunity’. In attendance were also H.E. Tran Duc Binh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, and members of the diplomatic corps in Jakarta.

As the country coordinator for ASEAN-Japan Dialogue Relations, Thailand is working closely with Japan and other ASEAN Member States to advance ASEAN-Japan cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of ASEAN and Japan.
