On 30 September 2025, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, paid a farewell call on H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN.

Ambassador Ekarohit expressed appreciation for the Secretary-General and the Secretariat’s professional support and close collaboration with Thailand during her tenure. She reaffirmed Thailand’s continued commitment to strengthening ASEAN’s community-building efforts, enhancing the Secretariat’s capacity, and promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.

The Secretary-General commended Ambassador Ekarohit for her active role during a crucial transition period for ASEAN amidst complex geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges. He highlighted Thailand’s important contributions as Country Coordinator for ASEAN–ROK dialogue relations, including the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as in advancing sustainable development cooperation and economic integration through key initiatives such as the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area 3.0 Upgrade and the Digital Economy Framework Agreement.

The meeting concluded with expression of appreciation and wishes for Thailand’s enduring contributions to ASEAN, particularly in advancing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
