On 21 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, paid an introductory call on H.E. U Aung Myo Myint, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Ambassador Prinat reiterated Thailand’s commitment to advancing the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, with a view to ensuring peace, stability, prosperity, and sustainable development in the region, including through enhanced cooperation in priority areas of common interest such as sustainable development, digital economy and health security. She also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation on transboundary issues, including haze pollution and transnational crimes.

Both sides also exchanged views on key regional developments and ASEAN’s external relations, including the ASEAN–Russia Dialogue Relations, for which Myanmar serves as ASEAN Coordinator during 2024–2027.
