On 22 November 2024, Mr. Piyapong Nuntana, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of
the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 6^th ASEAN-Türkiye Joint Sectoral Cooperation Committee Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat.

He expressed Thailand’s appreciation for Türkiye’s commitment to enhancing engagement with ASEAN through the Asia New Initiative, and encouraged both sides to further enhance cooperation on sustainable development, digital economy and green growth, particularly in the areas of smart agriculture, sustainable tourism, clean energy and climate-friendly industries.

Türkiye became ASEAN’s Sectoral Dialogue Partner in 2017. Both sides continue to advance their relations through the implementation of the ASEAN-Türkiye Practical Cooperation Areas as well as the utilisation of the ASEAN-Türkiye Fund to support collaborative projects in the various areas of mutual interest.
