On 3 March 2023, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the Meeting of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) with the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) at the ASEAN Secretariat. At the Meeting, Ambassador Sriphiromya commended the work and efforts of the AICHR in mainstreaming human rights in the region, and expressed her support for the activities which could advance both human rights and the SDGs.

Ambassador Sriphiromya also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the AICHR and the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) in advocating the protection of the rights of vulnerable women in ASEAN, including the rights of women prisoners which Thailand is promoting under the ACWC in consultation with the relevant sectoral bodies and the AICHR.
