On 3 March 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 13th ASEAN-Australia Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat.

Ambassador Sriphiromya briefed the Meeting on Thailand’s efforts, in its capacity as the ASEAN Coordinator on Sustainable Development Cooperation, to promote the attainment of the SDGs in the region. This includes the plan to convene the 7th High-Level Brainstorming Dialogue on Enhancing Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on 31 March 2023 in Bangkok and to organise a side event at the SDG Summit in September 2023 in New York. She also invited Australia to develop concrete projects with the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ASCSDSD) in Thailand.                             

Moreover, Ambassador Sriphiromya suggested that ASEAN and Australia work together to move forward the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through enhancing cooperation in the areas of mutual interest such as infrastructure development, health security and BCG Economy.
