On 10 May 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 16th Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN Plus Three (CPR+3) Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat.

Ambassador Sriphiromya stressed the importance of cooperation towards economic recovery.  She encouraged the ASEAN Plus Three countries to strengthen their cooperation for effective implementation and full utilization of the RCEP Agreement, as well as emphasized that supply chains and connectivity must be enhanced and closely coordinated to minimize disruptions that may be caused by future outbreaks of infectious diseases and other emergencies.  Ambassador Sriphiromya also proposed that the ASEAN Plus Three countries make full use of digital transformation that has been accelerated by the pandemic and that the region should work together on science, technology, and innovation in several areas such as food technology, next-generation automobiles, and robotics.

On this note, Ambassador Sriphiromya  promoted the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model as part of the efforts towards green, resilient, and sustainable growth.  She invited China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan to explore possible cooperation with the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), which Thailand initiated as part of its chairmanship deliverables in 2019.
