On 1 September 2026, in Thiland’s capacity as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Republic of Korea (ROK) Dialogue Relations, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, participated in a briefing by the ROK for the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the ASEAN Secretariat on the ROK’s CSP Vision. The briefing was hosted by H.E. Mr. Lee Chul, Ambassador of the ROK to ASEAN, and the CSP Vision was presented by Mr. HA Daegoog, Director of the ASEAN Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK.
In her remarks, Ambassador Prinat highlighted that ASEAN-ROK relations have been a partnership defined by concrete action and practical cooperation. She reiterated ASEAN's appreciation for the ROK's consistent commitment, including through dedicated ASEAN-focused initiatives and policy frameworks, such as the CSP Vision. Ambassador Prinat welcomed the briefing as a useful opportunity for the CPR to deepen its understanding of the CSP Vision and its flagship initiatives, while supporting the CPR's work in tracking the implementation of the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN-ROK CSP (2026-2030).
ASEAN and the ROK established their CSP in 2024. The CSP Vision, announced by President Lee Jae Myung at the ASEAN-ROK Summit in 2025, serves as an overarching policy framework for advancing ASEAN-ROK cooperation through its three pillars: Contributor for Dreams and Hope, Springboard for Growth and Innovation, and Partner for Peace and Stability. The Vision is aligned with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, which aspires to build a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred ASEAN.
