On 9 September 2024, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the third Meeting of the Group of the East Asia Summit Participating Countries’ Ambassadors to ASEAN in Jakarta (EAS Group) in 2024.

The meeting reviewed the progress of existing projects and discussed ways forward to deepen collaborations between all participating countries of the EAS in strategic areas such as climate change, natural disaster management, connectivity, and finance. Thailand highlighted the importance of constructive cooperation for effective implementation of the EAS Plan of Action 2024-2028.

This EAS Group meets three times a year, and there are 18 participating countries, namely the 10 ASEAN Members and Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia and the United States.
