On 1 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Tornike Nozadze, Ambassador of Georgia to ASEAN, called on H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Ambassador Nozadze reiterated Georgia’s commitment to enhancing its engagement and expanding cooperation with ASEAN, including through Georgia’s application to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC). Ambassador Nozadze also stressed Georgia’s readiness to further its cooperation with ASEAN during the consideration process.

Ambassador Prinat welcomed Georgia’s growing interest in ASEAN and encouraged Georgia to explore cooperation with various ASEAN Centres, as well as to promote people-to-people connectivity and tourism. Both sides also discussed potential cooperation in other areas, including culture, information technology, and disaster management.
