On 14 August 2026, Mr. Suwit Mangkhala, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, participated in the 3^rd Meeting between the CPR and the GCC Ambassadors’ Council in Jakarta at the ASEAN Secretariat.

On this occasion, CDA Suwit, in Thailand's capacity as the ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation, briefed the Meeting on sustainable development cooperation in ASEAN. He also highlighted several areas where ASEAN and the GCC should pursue more concrete cooperation, including trade and investment, halal industry, energy security, and tourism, particularly medical and wellness tourism, in which Thailand has expertise and seeks to further attract international markets.
