On 7 May 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, received a courtesy call from Mr. Ronaldo Reario, Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) Liaison Office to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, in Jakarta.

Both sides exchanged views on humanitarian cooperation and disaster management within the ASEAN framework, as well as ways to further strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and the United Nations.

UNOCHA serves as the lead UN entity in coordinating cooperation with ASEAN on disaster management and humanitarian assistance under the ASEAN-UN Joint Strategic Plan of Action on Disaster Management.
