On 19 April 2024, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, paid an introductory call on H.E. Mr. Bovonethat Douangchak, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to ASEAN and current Chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), at the Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Ambassador Phantipha reiterated Thailand’s readiness to support the ASEAN Chairmanship of the Lao PDR in 2024 whose agenda are in line with Thailand’s priorities such as connectivity, sustainable development and health. Both Ambassadors also shared their views on the importance of upholding ASEAN centrality and value so that ASEAN can navigate through the rising geopolitical challenges and more fragile global situations.
