On 30 January 2023, Ms. Sarah Lou Ysmael Arriola, Regional Director of ASIA and Pacific of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta. During the meeting, Ambassador Sriphiromya congratulated Ms. Arriola on her assumption of office and reiterated Thailand’s commitment to enhance the relationship between ASEAN and the IOM.

Both sides also exchanged views on ways to enhance the role of the IOM in ASEAN, particularly in the areas of migrant protection and anti-human trafficking in online platforms.
