On 30 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 27th ASEAN - China Joint Cooperation Committee (ACJCC) Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta. The Meeting discussed progress on the next Plan of Action for 2026–2030 and exchanged views on strengthening practical cooperation in key priority areas.
Ambassador Apirat reaffirmed Thailand’s active role in promoting tangible cooperation under the ASEAN - China framework, particularly in areas such as sustainable development, energy, digital transformation, ageing society, combating online scams and gambling, MSMEs, creative industries, green industries, science, technology and innovation, financial technology, and smart agriculture. Thailand, in its capacity as ASEAN - China coordinator for economic cooperation, also underscored the importance of expediting the entry into force of the ASEAN - China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 Upgrade Protocol.
ASEAN - China Dialogue Relations was established in 1991 and elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) in 2021. This year, both sides are commemorating the 35th anniversary of ASEAN - China relations and the 5th anniversary of CSP.
