Thailand Supports the Adoption of the Five-Year ASEAN–Republic of Korea Plan of Action

On 10 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, joined the Thai delegation to the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the Republic of Korea (ROK) held during the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Park Yongju, 1st Vice Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK)

Thailand, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN - ROK dialogue relations for the 2024 - 2027, delivered the ASEAN Common Statement to promote cooperation under the ASEAN - ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and highlighted Thailand’s active role amidst the evolving regional and global landscape, focusing on (1) creative economy and soft power, (2) digital economy and digital transition and (3) human security related to sustainable development and active aging society.

The Meeting also adopted the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN - ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2026 - 2030) and exchanged views on regional and international issues while Thailand supported the ROK’s positive role in maintaining regional peace and stability.
