On 21 April 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the First Meeting of the Group of the East Asia Summit Ambassadors in Jakarta (EAS Group) for 2026, held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

Ambassador Prinat underscored the importance of the EAS as a premier regional forum for dialogue and cooperation, and reaffirmed the need to further strengthen cooperation on energy and food security, as well as on combating online scams, as these are pressing challenges affecting both the region and the global community.

The EAS was established in 2005 as an open, transparent, and inclusive forum for strategic dialogue. It is convened annually in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit, with the ASEAN Chair serving as Chair of the EAS for that year.
