On 4 June 2025, H.E. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, accompanied by officers of the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, paid a courtesy visit to the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre). She was welcomed by Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre, and his team. Both sides exchanged views on the Centre’s important work in coordinating humanitarian assistance efforts in affected areas in ASEAN and future possible collaboration with Thailand.

The Executive Director of the AHA Centre expressed appreciation for Thailand’s continued and strong support for regional cooperation in disaster management, as well as Thailand’s support for the AHA Centre’s mission, including in the aftermath of the recent 28 March earthquake in Myanmar during which Thailand promptly and actively contributed to the rescue and relief efforts. The Ambassador also commended the hard work of the AHA Centre and reiterated Thailand’s readiness to continue its assistance in the subsequent recovery and reconstruction phases. The Executive Director also showed Ambassador the Centre’s facilities, including its Emergency Operations Centre Room.
