On 23 December 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the meeting between H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, at the ASEAN Secretariat during his State Visit to Indonesia.

On behalf of Thailand, Ambassador Sriphiromya welcomed President Nguyen and commended Viet Nam’s contributions to ASEAN, especially during its Chairmanship in 2020. She also highlighted the areas of cooperation with ASEAN framework that Thailand and Viet Nam share common interest such as the operationalization of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED), and sustainable development, particularly, through the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, which is also the underlying theme for Thailand’s candidature for hosting the Specialized Expo 2028 in Phuket.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked Ambassador Sriphiromya and congratulated Thailand for the successful hosting of APEC 2022.
