On 12 January 2023, H.E. Yohannes Abraham, U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta. Ambassador Abraham reiterated his commitment to deepening the ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue Relations, which has been elevated to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership at the 10^th ASEAN-U.S. Summit in November 2022 in Phnom Penh.

Both sides also exchanged views on ways to further cooperate in the areas of mutual interest, particularly trade and investment, digitalisation, climate change as well as sustainable development, for which Thailand serves as the ASEAN Coordinator.
