MFU-ASEAN Youth Ambassadors Attended the Lecture "The Role of Youth in Asia”

at the ASEAN Secretariat

        On 8 November 2012, Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta welcomed Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) students under the MFU-ASEAN Youth Ambassador 2012 Visit the ASEAN Countries Project. Seven MFU youth ambassadors and advisors attended the lecture "The Role of Youth in Asia" by the Education, Youth and Training Division at the ASEAN Secretariat. After the lecture, the students exchanged the ideas with officers from the ASEAN Secretariat on several issues, such as ASEAN-related youth activities and Secretary-General of ASEAN’s process to handle youth requests. Then, the group visited gallery and took a photograph for memorial.

            MFU-ASEAN Youth Ambassadors Project is aimed at increasing knowledge of student and staff of MFU on different cultures and exchanging experience with other university students or local experts. This is to enhance capacity of youth and help preparing themselves for the ASEAN Community with pride. In the course of the Project, nine university students selected from 71 candidates and 2 advisors will have opportunities to visit ASEAN member countries. In this year, the Project participants were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Group 2 visited Malaysia, the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Singapore.

คณะทูตเยาวชนอาเซียนมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง เข้ารับฟังการบรรยายสรุป “บทบาทของเยาวชนในอาเซียน”

        เมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤศจิกายน 2555 คณะผู้แทนถาวรไทย ณ กรุงจาการ์ตา ได้ต้อนรับคณะทูตเยาวชนอาเซียนมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง จากโครงการ MFU-ASEAN Youth Ambassador 2012 visit the ASEAN Countries อันประกอบด้วยอาจารย์และนักศึกษาจำนวน 7 คน ซึ่งเข้ารับฟังการบรรยายสรุป ณ สำนักเลขาธิการอาเซียน ในหัวข้อ “บทบาทของเยาวชนในอาเซียน” โดยเจ้าหน้าที่ฝ่ายการศึกษา เยาวชนและการฝึกอบรม สำนักเลขาธิการอาเซียน ซึ่งภายหลังการบรรยายคณะทูตเยาวชนฯ ได้สอบถามในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้อง เช่น การจัดกิจกรรมที่เกี่ยวกับอาเซียนให้กับเยาวชน การดำเนินการต่อคำร้องขอของเยาวชนที่เสนอต่อเลขาธิการอาเซียน ในการนี้คณะทูตเยาวชนฯ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมแกลอรี่พร้อมทั้งถ่ายรูปเป็นที่ระลึก

           โครงการคณะทูตเยาวชนอาเซียนมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง มีจุดมุ่งหมายให้นักศึกษาและบุคลากรได้เรียนรู้ข้อมูลเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยน วัฒนธรรมระหว่างกันกับนักศึกษาจากประเทศต่างๆ หรือจากผู้มีประสบการณ์ที่อยู่ในแต่ละพื้นที่ อันจะก่อให้เกิดแรงจูงใจในการพัฒนาศักยภาพของตนและก้าวไปสู่การเป็นเยาวชน รุ่นใหม่ของอาเซียนได้อย่างภาคภูมิใจ โดยคัดเลือกนักศึกษา จำนวน 9 คน จากผู้สมัครทั้งสิ้น 71 คน และอาจารย์ จำนวน 2 คน เพื่อเดินทางไปศึกษาดูงานในประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม กลุ่มที่ 1 เดินทางไปยังสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม สาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมาร์ และสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว กลุ่มที่ 2 เดินทางไปยังประเทศมาเลเซีย สาธารณรัฐอินโดนีเซีย และสาธารณรัฐสิงคโปร์
