On 21 February 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 3rd ASEAN-Chile Development Partnership Committee Meeting via videoconferencing. At the Meeting, Ambassador Sriphiromya gave a briefing on sustainable development cooperation within ASEAN, particularly the work of the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) and the High-Level Brainstorming Dialogue on Enhancing Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLBD) which has been co-hosted by Thailand and the UNESCAP since 2017. Thailand will further promote BCG economy in her capacity as Chair of APEC this year.
Both sides had common interest in promoting cooperation in the areas of renewable energy, mining management, sustainable agriculture, digital transformation, trade, and investment. ASEAN and Chile also agreed to encourage the private sector to engage in the implementation of ASEAN-Chile cooperation projects.
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of Thailand-Chile diplomatic relations.
