On 13 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 39th Meeting of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR) Governing Council at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

The Meeting discussed key issues, including the ASEAN-IPR Three-Year Work Plan for 2027-2029 and efforts to strengthen the Institute’s research mandate. Ambassador Prinat emphasised that the ASEAN-IPR’s work should support the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the ASEAN Political-Security Community Strategic Plan, as well as cooperation in areas such as countering online scams, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

The ASEAN-IPR was established following the endorsement by the 18th ASEAN Summit on 8 May 2011, with the core mandate of undertaking research and studies on peace and reconciliation. The Governing Council serves as the Institute’s executive body, comprising representatives from all 11 ASEAN Member States, and convenes three times per year.
