On 25 November 2021, from 10.00 to 13.00 hrs., H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the Handover Ceremony of
the Chairmanship of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) from Brunei Darussalam to Cambodia, held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia.


In his remarks at the ceremony, H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary General of ASEAN expressed his appreciation to the CPR for its work under the chairmanship of Brunei Darussalam in 2021, amidst the challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has contributed to ASEAN Community Building. H.E. Pengiran Hairani Pengiran Haji Tajuddin, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam, the outgoing Chair, thanked members of CPR and its Working Group for their support and underscored that her experience as Chair of the CPR throughout this year had taught her that each ASEAN Member State has its role and strength, and at the same time can work together to create a strong team.


H.E. Yeap Samnang, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Cambodia to ASEAN,
the incoming Chair, said that Cambodia’s priorities will include holding the meetings regularly, finalising the pending issues and implementing the CPR Work Plan, fostering cooperation and partnership, collaborating closely with the ASEAN Secretariat, and promoting public awareness about ASEAN, particularly among people, the youth, and civil society.
