On 2 August 2024 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, participated in the Regional Capacity Building Workshop under the eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA) Programme Cohort 4 organized by the ASEAN Foundation.

In the Workshop, Ambassador Phantipha and the other Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives to ASEAN shared their knowledge and experiences with the ASEAN youths in a friendly “fireside chat.” She stressed that the journey of ASEAN had not always been rosy, but full of obstacles, and ASEAN had learned from its mistakes and overcome the challenges before nowadays earning worldwide recognition as the most successful regional intergovernmental organization in the developing world. Diversity is ASEAN’s strength and charm, and by uniting as ASEAN, the ten countries in Southeast Asia, have greatly benefitted their political, economic and social development, as well as gained more attraction from other countries.

The Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta has continuously supported the work of the ASEAN Foundation. The eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA) Programme aims to empower ASEAN youths and communities by fostering social volunteerism.  After the Regional Capacity Building Workshop, the participants will travel to deploy their projects to empower local communities in ASEAN Member States with the relevant Civil Service Organizations.
