On 3 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, received H.E. Mr. Dashnyam ENKHTAIVAN, Ambassador of Mongolia to ASEAN, on a courtesy call at the Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.
Both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen cooperation between Mongolia and ASEAN, particularly in supporting the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. They also discussed practical collaboration in areas of mutual interest via ASEAN-led mechanisms.
Ambassador Prinat commended Mongolia’s commitment to playing a constructive role with ASEAN in promoting regional cooperation, building on its status as a High Contracting Party to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) and its participation in the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). On this occasion, Ambassador Prinat welcomed Mongolia’s intention to further enhance its relations with ASEAN by seeking to become an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner.
Thailand and Mongolia established diplomatic relations on 5 March 1974. The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing is concurrently accredited to Mongolia, while Mongolia has its Embassy located in Bangkok.
