Serbia to Deepen Engagement with ASEAN

On 9 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Ivana Golubović-Duboka, Ambassador of Serbia to ASEAN, called on H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Ambassador Golubović-Duboka reiterated Serbia’s commitment to enhancing its visibility in the region and deepening engagement with ASEAN. She also expressed hope that Serbia will be granted an observer status of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) this year.

In this connection, Ambassador Prinat reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to work with Serbia in areas of mutual benefits, such as trade and investment, people-to-people connectivity, tourism, and sustainable development.

Serbia acceded to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2023. H.E. Ivica Dačić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, attended the signing ceremony of the instrument of accession on 4 September 2023 at the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.
