On 4 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the 5^th ASEAN-UK Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta.

Ambassador Prinat briefed the Meeting on Thailand’s efforts to advance the implementation of the SDGs in the region, in its capacity as the ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation. She also suggested that ASEAN and the UK further enhance cooperation on the digital economy, security in all its dimensions, and sustainable development.

The UK reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with ASEAN comprehensively and expressed appreciation to Thailand for co-hosting the ASEAN-UK Dialogue on Sustainability on 23 February 2026 in Bangkok.

The Meeting also welcomed the 5^th anniversary of the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership and looked forward to joint commemorative activities this year, as well as to developing a new plan of action for 2027-2031
