On 3 May 2024, H.E. Ms. Vicky Singmin, Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta. Both sides discussed ways to advance the ASEAN-Canada Strategic Partnership, including through enhancing cooperation in the areas of mutual intertest such as green transition, climate change, renewable energy, trade and investment, and human capital development.

Ambassador Phantipha emphasised that Canada is an important partner of Thailand and ASEAN. ASEAN and Canada established dialogue relations in 1977, and elevated their partnership to a strategic level in 2023.
