On 25 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Mariann Ruud Hagen, Ambassador of Norway ASEAN, called on H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Both sides exchanged visions on practical ways to strengthen ASEAN-Norway cooperation, underscoring the importance of and commitment to advancing sustainable development in various aspects, particularly sustainable agriculture and fisheries, plastic debris management, and blue economy, all of which are priorities for Thailand and Norway.

In addition, both Ambassadors agreed to work together to enhance economic integration, including digital economy, and explore concrete collaboration to combat online scams.

Norway acceded to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2013 and became ASEAN’s Sectoral Dialogue Partner in 2015.
