On 16 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Helen Fazey, Ambassador of the UK to ASEAN, called on H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN in Jakarta.

Both sides exchanged visions on concrete ways to advance ASEAN-UK cooperation in areas of ASEAN’s priority and the UK’s expertise, such as economic integration, Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), public health, education, and sustainable development. Both sides also welcomed the 5^th anniversary of the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership this year and looked forward to co-hosting the ASEAN-UK Dialogue on Sustainability on 23 February 2026 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as one of the commemorative activities.

In addition, both Ambassadors exchanged views on key regional security issues. In this regard, the Ambassador of UK to ASEAN reiterated the UK’s desire to join the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF)
