On 17 April 2026, H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, met with H.E. Mr. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community, at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

During the meeting, the Deputy Secretary-General briefed Ambassador Prinat on the latest developments in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Both sides also exchanged views on the future direction of ASEAN economic cooperation and on Thailand's key priorities within the AEC framework, with a view to contributing to Thailand’s preparation for its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2028.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to advance a stronger and more resilient ASEAN Economic Community.
