On 24 April 2024, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to ASEAN, attended the meeting between the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and Mr. Martin Kent, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Asia Pacific and Senior Economic Official of the United Kingdom, at The Langham Hotel, Jakarta.  

Ambassador Phantipha emphasised the importance of advancing the implementation of the Work Plan to Implement the Joint Ministerial Declaration for Future Economic Cooperation between ASEAN and the UK. She further highlighted potential areas of cooperation that are of mutual interest between the two sides, namely digital transformation, connectivity and green finance. Moreover, she welcomed the launch of the ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme (EIP) and reiterated Thailand’s support for its implementation. She also joined the launching ceremony of the EIP which took place after the meeting, together with the Senior Economic Official of the UK, the Ambassador of the UK to ASEAN, and Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives from other ASEAN Member States.
