เอกอัครราชทูตผู้แทนถาวรไทยประจำอาเซียน ณ กรุงจาการ์ตา ยื่นสารแต่งตั้งต่อเลขาธิการอาเซียน

เมื่อวันที่ 6 สิงหาคม 2564 นางสาวอุรวดี ศรีภิรมย์ เอกอัครราชทูตผู้แทนถาวรไทยประจำอาเซียน ณ กรุงจาการ์ตา ได้ยื่นสารแต่งตั้งต่อ Dato Lim Jock Hoi เลขาธิการอาเซียน ผ่านระบบการประชุมทางไกล โดยมีนาย Satvinder Singh รองเลขาธิการอาเซียนด้านเศรษฐกิจ นาย Kung Phoak รองเลขาธิการอาเซียนด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรม และนาย Tran Duc Binh รองเลขาธิการอาเซียนด้านประชาคมและการบริหาร ร่วมเป็นสักขีพยาน

ภายหลังเสร็จสิ้นพิธี เอกอัครราชทูตผู้แทนถาวรไทยได้หารือข้อราชการกับเลขาธิการอาเซียน โดยเห็นว่า อาเซียนเผชิญกับช่วงเวลาที่ท้าทายอย่างมากเป็นประวัติการณ์ ทั้งจากการระบาดรุนแรงของโรคโควิด-19 และสถานการณ์ในภูมิภาค แต่เชื่อมั่นว่า อาเซียนจะร่วมมือกันเพื่อผ่านพ้นไปได้  ทั้งสองฝ่ายหารือเกี่ยวกับการระดมความช่วยเหลือในการรับมือกับโควิด-19 การให้ความช่วยเหลือทางมนุษยธรรมแก่เมียนมา การเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือเพื่อฟื้นฟูเศรษฐกิจหลังโควิด นอกจากนี้ เลขาธิการอาเซียนชื่นชมบทบาทที่สร้างสรรค์ของไทย โดยเฉพาะความสำเร็จในช่วงที่ไทยเป็นประธานอาเซียน และยินดีที่รัฐบาลไทยส่งผู้แทนที่เป็นสตรี ซึ่งไทยพร้อมที่จะส่งเสริมการดำเนินงานของอาเซียนในด้านต่างๆ รวมทั้งการส่งเสริมบทบาทของสตรี เด็ก และการคุ้มครองกลุ่มเปราะบางในประชาคมอาเซียน

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN presents her Credentialsto the Secretary-General of ASEAN

On 6 August 2021, H.E. Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, presented her Credentials to H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, via a virtual ceremony.  The presentation of credentials was witnessed by Mr. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community, Mr. Kung Phoak, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, and Mr. Tran Duc Binh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs.

In the ensuing discussion, both sides exchanged views on unprecedented challenges facing ASEAN both the spread of COVID-19 and the situation in the region.  However, ASEAN would work together to overcome this difficult time.   Both sides discussed the need to mobilize support in response to the spread of COVID-19, the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, and cooperation to promote the post COIVD-19 economic recovery.  The Secretary General of ASEAN appreciated Thailand’s constructive role in ASEAN especially during the Thai Chairmanship.   He was pleased that Thailand appointed a female Permanent Representative.  Ambassador Sriphiromya also reiterated Thailand’s readiness to promote the work of ASEAN in various areas including the promotion of the roles of women and children and the protection of vulnerable groups in the ASEAN Community.
