On 20 June 2022, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ASEAN and Australia on the Australia for ASEAN (Aus4ASEAN) Futures Initiative at the ASEAN Secretariat, along with the Permanent Representatives of other ASEAN Member States to ASEAN. The MoU was signed by Dato Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, on behalf of ASEAN, and H.E. Will Nankervis, Ambassador of Australia to ASEAN.

The MoU on the Aus4ASEAN Futures Initiative serves as an overarching framework and a guiding document for future cooperation activities/projects between ASEAN and Australia in the next ten years in line with the newly established ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The MoU covers various areas of cooperation under the three Community pillars of ASEAN.  All activities and projects will be fully funded by the Australian Government’s pledged fund of over 214 million AUD.
