On 13 June 2022, H.E. Manuel Antonio Saturno Escala, Ambassador of Panama to ASEAN, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, at the Residence of the Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN.

Both sides discussed ways to initiate concrete cooperation between ASEAN and Panama. Ambassador Sriphiromya suggested that the first step should be to exchange knowledge and experiences in areas of ASEAN’s and Panama’s expertise, such as tourism, logistics, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection.

Ambassador Saturno also reiterated Panama’s commitment to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
